Questions We Get About the Axis Integration
Does the Lynx integration require new Axis hardware?
No. If you already run Axis cameras and network speakers, Lynx connects to what is installed. Lynx uses VAPIX for speakers, HTTP for camera actions, and RTSP for video.
Do we have to replace our VMS or access control system?
No. Lynx sits alongside what you run. It integrates with Software House C•CURE 9000, Genetec Security Center, and other platforms through the Lynx REST API.
What happens if a workstation is locked or logged out?
LynxKey Pro still activates on an F9 through F11 keypress, and LynxMessenger Pro still delivers the message to that screen. This is one of the specific reasons organizations choose Lynx over desktop-only alerting tools.
Can Axis events trigger Lynx, or only the other way around?
Both. An Axis analytic or camera action can activate any Lynx alarm and everything downstream of it, including text-to-speech over handheld radios and pop-ups on workstations.
How do we know the panic buttons still work?
Lynx supervises the connection and runs a monthly client test. You find a disconnected station during the test rather than during an incident.
Is Lynx sold direct or through an integrator?
Lynx is sold through distribution. Your integrator can source it, and Lynx technical support works alongside them on design and commissioning.
