Duress & Mass Notification for Hospice Care Centers
Hospice staff work in deeply personal settings where emotions run high and security presence is minimal. Lynx gives your team a discreet, reliable way to call for help without escalating sensitive moments.

Key Safety Considerations
Hospice care centers carry a distinct risk profile. Intimate environments, small teams, and emotionally charged family dynamics that can escalate without warning.
Staff working alone in private patient rooms with limited visibility from colleagues
Grief-driven aggression from family members under extreme emotional stress
Rapidly escalating situations with little behavioral warning
Limited or no dedicated security personnel
Small team sizes that reduce backup options during an incident
Need for discreet alerting that doesn’t add tension to an already emotional environment
Increasing compliance pressure from state workplace violence prevention laws
How Lynx Works in Hospice Settings
Lynx transforms the computers your hospice already uses into a supervised duress and notification system. No new wiring. No wearable devices staff need to remember.
Keyboard-Based Activation
Staff press a configurable key combination (F9-F11 by default) on any networked computer. The alert is silent and discreet, so it won’t escalate a volatile family interaction.
Works Logged On, Logged Off, or Locked
The computer doesn’t need to be in active use. A nurse charting at a workstation or walking past a locked terminal in the hallway can activate duress either way.
Network-Based Architecture
Lynx runs over your existing LAN. Client-initiated connections mean no firewall ports need to be opened, and all communications are TLS encrypted. Your IT team won’t need to redesign the network.
Supervised Devices
Lynx continuously monitors every connected device. Automated testing with scheduled employee prompts generates audit trails, so you know the system works before an emergency, not after a failure.
Features Built for Hospice Environments
- Discreet Activation: Silent keyboard-based alerts that don’t draw attention or add stress to sensitive patient and family interactions.
- Automated Supervision: Every device is continuously monitored. Scheduled testing creates documentation required for compliance.
- No New Infrastructure: Runs on your existing computer network. No proprietary hardware, no wearable devices to manage, no construction required.
Emergency Events Addressed by Lynx
Integration with Existing Systems
Lynx connects to your existing security infrastructure through its REST JSON API, creating coordinated response workflows tailored to hospice operations.
Example scenario: A nurse activates duress from a patient room workstation. Lynx immediately sends an alert to every on-site staff member’s desktop, identifying the room and the nature of the event. Simultaneously, the system triggers a camera feed from the nearest IP camera to pull up on the charge nurse’s monitor and the administrator’s screen, giving real-time visual context. If on-site staff are limited, the alert escalates to off-site administrators or a designated response contact.
Featured integration partners include Axis, Genetec, Software House, HALO, Identiv, AlertMedia, RapidSOS, and Inovonics. Lynx works with what you already have rather than requiring wholesale replacement.
Support & Implementation
Our experienced Lynx technical support team provides end-to-end implementation services, working closely with your organization to ensure seamless deployment, smooth integration with existing security systems, and thorough training to empower your team to maximize system capabilities.
All engineering, manufacturing, and support happens in-house at our Richardson, Texas headquarters. When you call for technical support, you reach the team that built the system.
End-User Training
We offer regularly scheduled online webinar training sessions designed to empower our end-users to master the Lynx application. User training explores all features of Lynx mass notification and duress services so that end-users learn to manage critical communications and personal safety alerts with confidence.
